The Dahua DHI-NVR5216-16HP-AI/ANZ-S2 is a high-performance 16-channel network video recorder designed for advanced residential, commercial and industrial CCTV systems. Featuring 16 built-in PoE ports, compatible IP cameras can receive power and data through a single network cable, simplifying installation and reducing the need for additional PoE equipment.
The recorder provides a substantial 200W total PoE power budget, with up to 25.5W available per port. Ports 1–8 also support Dahua ePoE technology, allowing extended cable distances when used with compatible Dahua cameras and suitable network cabling.
Part of Dahua’s WizSense range, the NVR incorporates advanced artificial intelligence for more accurate event detection and faster investigation of recorded footage. Its onboard AI capabilities include face detection and recognition, perimeter protection, SMD Plus, video metadata and AcuPick.
SMD Plus provides human and vehicle classification across all 16 channels, helping reduce false alarms caused by rain, moving vegetation and changes in lighting conditions. AcuPick allows operators to quickly locate people or vehicles of interest within recorded footage when used with compatible Dahua cameras.
The recorder supports IP cameras with resolutions up to 32MP and provides up to 448Mbps incoming, recording and outgoing bandwidth when its onboard AI functions are disabled. Its powerful decoding capability supports up to ten 8MP camera streams at 30 frames per second, delivering smooth, high-resolution live viewing and playback.
An 8K-capable HDMI output provides exceptional image quality on compatible displays, while a separate VGA output can display a different camera layout. Smart H.265+ video compression helps reduce bandwidth and storage requirements while maintaining clear recorded footage.
Two internal SATA hard drive bays support drives up to 20TB each, providing a potential total installed storage capacity of up to 40TB. The recorder also supports iSCSI network storage for systems requiring additional recording capacity.
Remote access from compatible iOS and Android devices allows users to view live cameras, review recorded footage and manage supported security events while away from the property.
