The Ubiquiti ETH-SP-G2 Ethernet Surge Protector is designed to provide an additional layer of protection for outdoor Ethernet-connected equipment against damaging electrostatic discharge (ESD) and electrical surges.

Ideal for use with Ubiquiti airMAX, UniFi, wireless bridges, access points, IP cameras and other outdoor Ethernet devices, the ETH-SP-G2 features two surge-protected RJ45 ports and supports both PoE and non-PoE network connections.

When correctly connected to an appropriate earth, electrical surge energy can be safely diverted away from sensitive network equipment, helping reduce the risk of damage to switches, PoE injectors, routers, cameras and other connected devices.

Key Features:

  • Protects Ethernet equipment against ESD and electrical surges
  • 10kA+ discharge current capability
  • Supports network speeds up to 2.5 Gbps
  • Compatible with PoE connections
  • 2 × RJ45 female Ethernet ports
  • Passive inline operation – no external power required
  • Compact and easy to install
  • IPX5 weather-resistant enclosure
  • Suitable for outdoor installations
  • Operating temperature from -30°C to 65°C
  • Polycarbonate enclosure
  • Designed for installation with an appropriate earth connection
  • Suitable for wireless links, IP CCTV cameras, outdoor access points and other Ethernet equipment

The ETH-SP-G2 is particularly useful on outdoor Ethernet cable runs where equipment may be exposed to electrical surges and static discharge. For enhanced protection, Ubiquiti recommends surge protection at strategic points in the Ethernet run, such as near the outdoor device and near the cable entry point into the building.

A simple and cost-effective addition to outdoor network and CCTV installations, the Ubiquiti ETH-SP-G2 can help protect valuable network equipment and reduce the risk of surge-related equipment failure.
